The Gottman Relationship Checkup
Dr. Julie and Dr. John Gottman have spent over 40 years working with and researching couples. They have done extensive research on divorce rates and marital stability. They are authors and co-authors on many well-known books such as; The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work and The Art and Science of Love Making. In collaboration with the Gottman Insitute, they have developed the Gottman Relationship Checkup. This assessment tool is utilized by clinicians to shed light on your relationships strengths and weaknesses.
As an approved provider, I am able to provide couples with the Gottman Relationship Checkup. This is essentially an assment that you would take with your significant other. It will highlight strengths and weaknesses in your relationship. This then provides me with more information on how to better serve you as a couple.

More Information
What is it?
The Gottman Relationship Checkup is an assessment utilized by clinicians as a tool to better aid you in bettering your relationship.
What does it consist of?
The "assessment is composed of 480 questions in 5 categories. Topics covered include: Friendship, Intimacy, Conflict, Finances, Children, Trust, Commitment, Drug and Alcohol screening, and Individual Issues." You will be creating your own personal profile before taking the assessment. This ensures that your partner will not be able to see your answers.
How long does it take?
Depending on each person's ability to answer the questions, the assessment typically takes 1-2 hours. This does not have to be done in one sitting, you do have the opportunity to break up the time.
What will the results tell me?
Once both individuals have completed the assessment, the results will be read and interpreted by the clinician. The results will show your areas of strength and your areas of weakness. The results can be utilized just as information for the couple, but for best results, continued therapy is suggested so that the clinician can utilize the results to help create a unique plan to better your relationship.
